Companies cannot afford high rates of customer attrition or employee turnover, especially in a slow growth global economy. Now what?

(Cincinnati; October 30, 2008) - At the Convergys 2008 Industry Analyst Day held in Cincinnati, Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, shared its insights on the challenges confronting companies today with regard to their customers and employees.  Industry analysts attending the event represented firms including Datamonitor, Forrester Research, Frost & Sullivan, IDC, Gartner, Nelson Hall, and the Yankee Group.

Speaking on “The State of Relationship Management,” Convergys President and CEO Dave Dougherty discussed how companies are now challenged with having to do more with less as the cost to serve rises, the complexity to serve increases, and customers and employees become more diverse and dispersed around the world as competition drives greater globalization.

According to Dougherty, Convergys is currently completing a multi-country, multi-vertical research project to help its clients better understand the expectations of their customers and employees.  Early findings of the project show that companies need to get better connected with what their customers and employees think.  If they do not, companies risk undermining their business performance, competitive advantage, and shareholder return – all during a time when the stakes are very high.
