Media Exchange Features
Media Exchange for Service Providers features include:
Home Zone Core: Giving You Direct Access
Home Zone Core is the heart of Media Exchange. This multi-modal environment and central storage element is used to manage key user-related data, including subscriber log-ins and profiles, contacts, greeting messages, and system help solutions.
Home Zone gives subscribers single-session access to multiple services through an intuitive, easy-to-use self-service interface. Subscribers can access various Home Zone service packs to adjust and customize their service mix, while managing their business and personal communications through Speech, DTMF, and other interfaces. Home Zone allows users to customize their service mix, call flows and greetings to suit their lifestyle preferences. Advanced security features protect the services accessible through Home Zone.
Most importantly, Home Zone Core allows immediate access of any application added to all the features available in Media Exchange. This means that the extensive integration work that is required on most vendor platforms takes place automatically in Media Exchange as an attribute of Home Zone Core.
Service Creation: Providing Easy Management
Intervoice Media Exchange speeds and simplifies the process of creating, deploying, and managing new services. The Service Creation element incorporates everything needed to manage applications, including the rating engine, message relay, prompts and persona, and account security features.
The service creation environment, through Application Builder, supports the rapid, cost-effective development and deployment of VXML-based applications to meet virtually any messaging requirement. This means that operators, third-party developers, and others can create responsive and cost-efficient applications – for niche and specialty situations, test markets, or as-yet-unknown opportunities – and plug those solutions quickly and seamlessly into the Media Exchange platform.
Open Network Ecosystem: Moving Beyond Open Standards
More than just following open standards, Media Exchange is an Open Solution that combines the application of known standards – including CCXML, VXML, SOAP, SS7, HTTP, IMAP4 and SMTP, to be enhanced with SIP, Parlay and other IMS based standards – with an extensible, modular architecture designed from the ground up to support seamless, cost-effective change. In addition, Media Exchange supports an open network ecosystem by supplying, reusing and repurposing existing components. This approach streamlines the deployment of additional components and encourages contributions from third-party sources.
Rating and Reporting: Providing the Knowledge You Need to Manage Your Business
A data-rich reporting tool is critical to successful management and marketing of applications. Media exchange uses Application Intelligence Metrics (AIM) to offload the storage and processing burden of handling large volumes of statistics and call detail records. Each time the Media Exchange service is accessed, the platform generates transaction records that can be transmitted to a customer provided billing subsystem. This data can be used to analyze resource usage for all user activity, including traffic statistics and service usage. With this capability, service providers do not need to predetermine which trends they will track, and can even search historical data for previously unrecognized trends.
In addition, the Flexible Rating feature complements Media Exchange’s single-session capability by allowing variable rating of application usage based on call type and/or download incident. This facilitates multiple consecutive or concurrent rates based on time, type of service and transaction.
